Real Anatomy 3d

Ten24 has updated its online ‘Anatomy Scan Reference Dump’: a collection of rendered 3D reference images created during development of Anatomy 360, its work-in-progress anatomy reference web app.

The repository now contains hundreds of high-quality images – we lost count past 500 – of male and female figures of a range of ages and body types, in a huge range of common poses.

Generated from high-res scans of a wide range of live actors
All of the renders are generated from detailed 3D scans of live actors, and as well as full-body shots, there are a number of close-ups of facial expressions and clothing.

Most of the renders are untextured to help viewers focus on the volumes and the distribution of light and shade, but there are a few colour images, and even animations.

All in all, it’s an invaluable resource for anyone who needs to draw or model the human body. One to bookmark.
